A conference promoting tourism cooperation between the Northwest region and Ho Chi Minh City took place in the largest economic hub of Vietnam on December 4. This event kick-started the Northwest – Ho Chi Minh City Culture and Tourism Week 2023 in the city.

The Moc Chau National Tourist Area in Son La province continued to be honoured as the World’s Top Nature Destination 2023 at the World Travel Awards 2023, which took place in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on December 1.

Quynh Nhai lake is likened to "Ha Long on land" or "a lake in the heart of a mountain". The lake, together with majestic mountains and clear blue Da River water, bears a charming beauty.

Nang Tien (Fairy) Waterfall is located in Na Cha hamlet, Chieng Khoa commune, about 7 km from the centre of Van Ho district. With its untouched and majestic natural scenery, it has become a tourist destination which attracts more than 3,000 tourists a month.

The land of Son La, with its majestic, charming mountain landscape and multi-ethnic culture, has become an endless source of inspiration for lifelong literary creations. Poems and literary works associated with the land, history and people of Son La have helped form a unique and attractive tourism product.

The 2023 "In the homeland of A Phu couple" festival opened in Hong Ngai commune, Bac Yen district on November 3 evening.

Son La province greeted 400,000 visitors and earned over 785 billion VND (32 million USD) from accommodation, catering, tourism, travel and other services in October, an increase of more than 17% over the same period last year.

Phu Yen district’s Culture and Tourism Festival 2023 will take place on November 25 in Phu Yen township and Muong Thai commune.

The “Tren que huong vo chong A Phu” (In the homeland of A Phu couple) festival 2023 will take place on November 3-4 in Hong Ngai commune, Bac Yen district.

The People's Committee of Na Nghiu commune, Song Ma district, Son La province organised the New Rice Festival 2023 on October 27-28.

The Quynh Nhai district People's Committee on October 28 launched the "Beautiful Photos of Quynh Nhai Tourism” Contest 2023.

Van Ho district has so far this year welcomed over 380,000 visitors, including 36,700 using accommodation services, earning over 75 billion VND (3 million USD) in revenue.

Many tourist destinations in Son La province have used friendly materials to minimise environmental impacts, as well as protected and developed cultural values ​​and natural landscapes in a long-term and sustainable fashion, towards green tourism.

In the past nine months of 2023, Moc Chau district hosted nearly 1.6 million tourists, three times higher than the figure in the same period last year, earning 1.68 trillion VND (68.5 million USD).

The Moc Chau Dairy Cattle Breeding Joint Stock Company on October 15 organized the 17th "Miss Moc Chau Dairy Cow 2023" beauty contest.

First Son La Coffee Festival 2023

Xim Vang commune of Bac Yen district held its first "Golden Season Festival" 2023 on October 6-7.

Tourist destinations in Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district welcomed nearly 50,000 visitors in the first nine months of 2023, earing 5 billion VND (205,296 USD) in revenue.

The northern mountainous province of Son La served more than 4.1 million tourists in the first nine months of this year, exceeding the 2023 plan by 5.4%.
