Haitian Embassy delegation visits Son La province

A delegation from the Embassy of Haiti in Vietnam, including Frantz Verella, Advisor to the Haitian Prime Minister, and Darlier Dorval, Chargé d'Affaires of the Haitian Embassy, paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of Son La province on May 22.

On behalf of Son La province, Trang Thi Xuan, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee, along with leaders of several provincial departments and agencies, received the delegation.

Xuan warmly welcomed the Haitian delegation to Son La. She provided an overview of the province’s key achievements in politics, socio-economic development, national defence, and security. She also highlighted Sơn La’s strengths and potential, particularly in the development of coffee, dairy cattle, high-tech agriculture, and the processing of tea, coffee, and fruit products.

She expressed her hope that the Haitian delegation would consider and develop cooperation programmes and sustainable investment partnerships between organisations and localities of the two countries in the future.

The Advisor to the Haitian Prime Minister thanked Son La for the warm and respectful reception, expressing his admiration for the province’s achievements in agriculture, especially its specialty coffee production model. He also expressed a desire to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between businesses of both sides in the near future, particularly in agriculture, processing, and trade of agricultural products.

During their visit, the Haitian delegation will tour and conduct field surveys at coffee-growing areas and the coffee processing plant of Bich Thao Son La Coffee Cooperative in Son La city.
