Provincial leaders on August 31 visited and inspected preparations by forces and units taking part in Moc Chau Culture and Tourism Week 2026, urging them to ensure the event is safe, well organised and showcases Son La's cultural identity.

The People’s Committee of Muong Gion commune is organising a cultural, sports and tourism festival from August 30 to September 1 to celebrate the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2026).
With Vietnam’s National Day (September 2) and the opening of the 2026-2027 school year taking place close together, Son La Power Company has put in place measures to ensure safe and stable electricity supplies for political, cultural and social events as well as household needs across the province. The company is also preparing to supply power to schools, with particular attention to 13 inter-level boarding schools in border communes.
The provincial Military Command, in coordination with the Muong Lam communal authorities, held a ceremony on August 27 to inaugurate and hand over a “Comrades’ House” to the family of Senior Lieutenant Giang A Cao, an officer in charge of personnel affairs at the Muong Lam communal Military Command.
