The Son La provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony on August 22 to inaugurate and launch trial operation of the Long Phieng Primary and Secondary Boarding School. Attending the event were Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, among other officials; along with teachers, students and local residents.

He was accompanied by leaders of several relevant provincial departments and agencies.

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Cha A Cua on August 21 held a working session with the Standing Board of the Nam Ty commune Party Committee to review task performance during the first seven months of 2026 and plans for the remainder of the year.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Ngoc Hau on August 21 chaired a meeting with representatives of several departments and agencies to finalise data for the adjustment and allocation of 2026 funding for science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, as well as prepare for a working session with the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Son La province’s authorities are stepping up measures to prevent and strictly handle illegal mineral exploitation along the Da River, particularly illegal sand mining outside licensed areas.

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Cha A Cua on August 20 conducted a field survey to assess the use of agricultural and forestry land and the relocation of dairy cattle from the core zone of the Moc Chau National Tourism Area in Thao Nguyen and Van Son wards. Muong Chanh commune, in coordination with Tay Bac University, on August 18 organised a workshop themed “Muong Chanh Tourism: Potential, Current Situation and Solutions.” The event was attended by Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Lo Minh Hung; leaders of several provincial departments and agencies, and Phieng Cam, Chieng Mai, Muoi Noi and Binh Thuan communes; as well as scientists, artisans, businesses and cooperatives in the localities.

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet on August 17 chaired a working session with leaders of provincial departments and agencies on implementing the 2026 local budget revenue estimate and formulating the estimate for 2027.

The Son La provincial People’s Committee on August 19 launched an online quiz on law on the protection of State secrets at Studio S350 of the Son La Newspaper and Radio-Television.

A ceremony was held on August 17 at the Son La provincial Convention Centre to present the Orders of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to collectives and individuals in Son La province.

After one and a half days of intense competition, Son La province on August 16 concluded its 2026 competition on artificial intelligence application and use of the province’s shared data repository at Studio S350 of Son La Newspaper and Radio-Television.
