Son La, Yen Bai districts review cooperation in agriculture-tourism development, cultural peservation

Representatives from Tram Tau, Mu Cang Chai and Van Chan of Yen Bai province, and Muong La and Bac Yen districts of Son La province gathered in Bac Yen on October 16 to review two years of collaboration in developing agriculture and tourism in association with preserving ethnic cultural heritage.

 

An overview of the meeting.

Over the past two years, the participating districts have proactively advanced the progress of making and approving planning schemes in the fields of culture, tourism, and agriculture. They have worked on integrating regional transport networks into the provinces' master plans, and proposed building and upgrading key roads connecting the districts, such as National Highway 32D, which links with the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway and passes through Tram Tau and Bac Yen to Hoa Binh city, Hoa Binh province.

The districts have coordinated to direct the planning of two inter-regional and inter-provincial roads to submit to competent authorities for approval. They are Tram Tau - Ngoc Chien and Tram Tau - Chieng An routes in Muong La. Additionally, they have put into operation such inter-district and inter-provincial roads as Provincial Road 174 connecting National Highway 32 (Tram Tau - Van Chan), the Tram Tau - Bac Yen road, and Provincial Road 111 connecting Bac Yen to National Highway 279D in Muong La.

Currently, all tourist accommodation facilities and attractions boast high-speed internet and mobile service coverage, meeting tourist demands.

At the meeting, representatives from the five districts signed a plan to implement collaborative activities focused on investing in regional infrastructure development. Under the plan, they will carry out plans and projects on developing agriculture, culture, and tourism; link agricultural development with regional tourism; and promote tourism and commercial services while preserving ethnic cultural identity. They also agreed to organize meetings to define boundaries and name scenic areas and mountain peaks, and to develop coordination regulations for resource protection and tourism development.
