Sports tournament celebrates traditional days of people’s public security forces

The provincial Department of Public Security’s Group 3 opened a football and pickleball tournament on July 7 to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the People’s Police force (July 20, 1962 – 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the People’s Public Security force (August 19, 1945 – 2025).

 

The provincial Department of Public Security’s Group 3 organises the football and pickleball tournament.

A total of 99 athletes from six units of Group 3 participate in the tournament, including the Departments of Mobile Police, Police for Administrative Management of Social Order, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police, Traffic Police, Criminal Judgment Execution and Legal Support Police, and the Detention Centres.

Leaders of the provincial Department of Public Security presents flowers and flags to the participating units.

In the football category, five participating teams are divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals and compete for the championship. The matches are played on a 7-a-side mini pitch. In the Pickleball category, athletes compete in the following events: men's doubles (leaders), men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.

The two-day tournament takes place at the football pitch and the Pickleball courts of An Binh Bank.
