MB Son La celebrates 10th anniversary

The Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB)’s Son La branch on July 6 held a ceremony to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

Attendees included Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh; member of the standing board of the provincial Party Committee Vi Duc Tho, who also heads the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee in Son La province; Colonel Chu Van Thanh, member of the standing board of the provincial Party Committee and Commander of the provincial Military Command; Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Ngoc Hau; Vice Chairman of MB Bank’s Board of Directors Vu Thanh Trung; Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam’s Region 3 branch Nguyen Dinh Vinh; and leaders from the provincial business association.

Established in July 2015, MB Son La now operates one branch and one transaction office, with 45 employees. The bank currently serves around 1,200 corporate clients and 363,000 individual customers - equivalent to about 30% of the province’s population. As of June 2025, its total outstanding loans topped 2 trillion VND (76.46 million USD), while deposits reached 2.1 trillion VND. Post-risk revenue for 2024 stood at 110 billion VND.

MB Son La has also been a pioneer in digital transformation, effectively rolling out digital banking products such as the MB Bank app and Biz MBBank, along with cashless payment solutions for schools and hospitals, making modern banking services more accessible to the public.

In parallel with its business operations, the branch has prioritised social welfare through initiatives like “Companion to patients” and “MB supports students,” with total sponsorships exceeding 15 billion VND over the past decade.

Speaking at the anniversary ceremony, Hau asked MB Son La to continue aligning with the Party’s guidelines, State laws, provincial policies, and the central bank’s regulatory measures to ensure safe and efficient credit operations.

He also called on the branch to implement flexible credit policies and facilitate capital access for all economic sectors, especially in priority areas such as agriculture, rural development, tourism, and hospitality.

MB supports Son La province’s programme to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated houses.

On this occasion, the Son La People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to one collective and five individuals, while the State Bank of Vietnam’s Region 3 branch honoured one collective and six individuals. MB also contributed 1 billion VND to Son La province’s programme to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated houses.
