"Beauty in Ethnic Costumes" pageant takes place in Bac Yen district
Bac Yen district on October 17 evening organised a pageant entitled “Beauty in Ethnic Costumes” as part of the activities during the Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Week in celebration the 60th anniversary of the district and its Party Organisation (1964-2024).
Fifteen pairs of contestants from 16 communes and town across Bac Yen participated in the event, displaying both traditional and modern ethnic attire, while also introducing their outfits.
The contest created a lively and attractive atmosphere with impressive performances that highlighted the cultural values of various ethnic groups.
At the end of the competition, the organizers awarded two A prizes for traditional attire to contestants from Phieng Ban and Hua Nhan communes, and two A prizes for modern attire to those from Xim Vang and Phieng Con communes. Additionally, six B prizes were given to other contestants in both traditional and modern costumes.
The Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans of Son La city on October 21 coordinated with sponsors to present wheelchairs and bicycles to people with disabilities (PWDs), as well as gifts and scholarships to orphans.
