The Oudomxay delegation holds a working session with represenatives of Son La province.
The delegation was warmly received by Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Son La provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and head of the provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, along with leaders of relevant provincial departments and agencies.

In an atmosphere filled with special solidarity and friendship, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Viet extended a warm welcome to the Oudomxay delegation and thanked them for joining the anniversary celebrations. He also shared an overview of Son La’s key achievements in politics, socio-economic development, national defence, and security over the first nine months of 2025, as well as highlights of cooperation between Son La province and Lao localities in general, particularly Oudomxay.

From 2022 to 2024, high-level delegations from Son La and Oudomxay signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, and the two provinces have since closely coordinated in promoting the traditional special friendship between Vietnam and Laos. They have facilitated cross-border exchanges, cultural activities, and trade between their people.
In agriculture and forestry, Son La has shared experience and conducted joint soil and climate surveys and assessments of local farming practices to implement a pilot mango cultivation model in Lang Chinh hamlet, Muang Houn district, Oudomxay province.
In the fields of education, training, culture, and society, over the past two years, Son La has provided financial aid of 5 billion VND (189,836 USD) to support the construction of a dormitory for Oudomxay’s provincial Political School. In addition, 92 students from Oudomxay have been admitted to Son La’s Political School and other colleges and universities in the province for academic and professional training.

During the working session, the two sides exchanged experience on performing administrative and advisory duties, coordination mechanisms among the provincial Party Committee Office, the Office of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies and People’s Council, and the People’s Committee Office. They also discussed best practices in establishing and operating public administration service centres, as well as decentralised governance models.

The Oudomxay delegation expressed their gratitude for Son La's warm and respectful welcome. They provided an overview of their organisational structure, socio-economic development achievements, and investment potential and advantages. They expressed a strong interest in learning from Son La’s governance model, especially in areas such as comprehensive leadership and direction, local government decentralisation, and implementation of public administration centres.
The delegation also proposed that Son La continue to support Oudomxay in providing training, capacity-building, and professional development programmes for local officials and students.
