Son La Border Guard Command receives second-class Victory Medal from Lao Ministry of National Defence

The provincial Border Guard Command on November 28 held a ceremony to receive the second-class Victory Medal from the Lao Ministry of National Defence.

The ceremony was attended by Colonel Ca Van Lap, Political Commissar of the Son La Border Guard Command; and Colonel Phansi Xonmyxay, Political Commissar of the Military Command of Laos’ Houaphanh province.

At the ceremony to receive the second-class Victory Medal from the Lao Ministry of National Defence. 

Authorised by the Lao Ministry of National Defence, Colonel Phansi Xonmyxay presented the medal to the Son La Border Guard Command in recognition of its outstanding contributions to strengthening the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the Parties, States, militaries, and people of Vietnam and Laos. This prestigious award reflects the deep bond and high regard that the Lao Party, State, and People's Army have for the Son La Border Guard Command.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lap expressed his happiness and honour at receiving the medal. He expressed his hope that in the time to come, the two sides will continue fostering solidarity and cooperation, with a focus on enhancing border management and protection, safeguarding national sovereignty and border security, and maintaining security and order along the border areas of the two provinces.
