In the 2025-2026 academic year, Son La College will provide Vietnamese language training for 397 students and trainees from nine Lao provinces. Among them, 128 trainees are officials from various departments, agencies, and armed forces who will study Vietnamese for nine months; 40 will take Vietnamese language courses before beginning their Intermediate Political Theory program; and 229 will attend preparatory Vietnamese classes before enrolling in specialised programmes at colleges and universities across Son La province.

Delegates attend the ceremony.

In addition to the formal curriculum, Son La College will organise cultural, artistic, physical training, and sports activities for the Lao students and trainees. The college will also arrange visits and study tours to historical sites and scenic destinations in Son La province and other parts of Vietnam, helping them gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and people while improving their Vietnamese language skills.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ha Trung Chien delivers a speech at the event.

Speaking at the event, Chien requested that relevant provincial departments and agencies continue to review resources and policies to enhance cooperation in training Lao students. He also tasked Son La College with ensuring the best possible learning and living conditions for the Lao students, prioritising training quality to strengthen the institution’s reputation and the educational cooperation between Son La province and the northern provinces of Laos.
