Attending the event, people were informed of the Nationality Law; guiding documents on allowing marriage between Laotians and foreigners; border regulations, free migration and illegitimate marriage in border areas; the Law on Drug Prevention and Control and Vietnam's regulations on immigration; some articles of the Customs Law on fraud and implementation of customs policies; and regulations on allowing entry of foreign workers into Laos.

The conference aimed to raise awareness and sense of law observance among people in border areas, contributing to firmly protecting border sovereignty and security as well as consolidating the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the Party organisations and administrations of Huaphanh and Son La provinces.

After the conference in Chieng Khuong commune, on December 20, a similar event will be held in Dan hamlet cluster, Muong Et district, Hua Phan province.
