Son La, Luang Prabang justice departments strengthen cooperation

A delegation from Son La province’s Department of Justice paid a December 10-12visit to Laos’ Luang Prabang province, where they held a working session with its local counterpart.

In a show of close ties, leaders of the two provincial justice departments shared updates on local socio-economic conditions, exchanged hands-on experience in judicial work, and discussed avenues for future cooperation in the justice sector.

Leaders of the justice departments of Son La and Luang Prabang provinces sign a cooperation agreement.

The two justice departments agreed to propose that the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and its Lao counterpart, along with the Party organisations and authorities of Son La and Luang Prabang, support efforts to broaden bilateral cooperation in the justice sector.

Priority areas include coordinated policy advice on nationality and civil status, unregulated migration, and unregistered marriages along the Vietnam–Laos border in Son La province, helping deepen the countries’ special solidarity, traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation, as well as ties between Son La and Luang Prabang.
