Son La province works with French Development Agency’s working group

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Hong Minh on September 26 had a working session with the French Development Agency (AFD)’s working group on the progress of implementing the project on improving urban infrastructure to cope with climate change in Son La city.

The provincial People's Committee holds a working session with the French Development Agency (AFD)’s working group.

The project, using official development assistance (ODA) loans from the AFD, has a total investment of 970 billion VND (39.7 million USD). Deployed in Son La city and Muong Bu commune of Muong La district, it aims to solve problems of flood prevention and urban drainage, improve the environment and air, treat wastewater and protect water environment.

The ODA capital plan for the project in 2021-2025 is 100 billion VND (4.1 million USD) and the reciprocal capital in 2023 is 5 billion VND (204,600 USD). To date, over 20% of domestic reciprocal capital has been disbursed.

Speaking at the meeting, Minh thanked the AFD for creating conditions for and always accompanying Son La province during the project implementation process. He said he hopes that the agency will soon consider signing a contract to implement mission support to ensure the overall progress of the project, in accordance with the regulations of the sponsor and Vietnam.
