Song Ma promotes solidarity with Laos’ Muong Et district

Song Ma district on March 28 hosted a meeting with Muong Et district of Laos’ Houaphanh province to evaluate the results of cooperation in various fields in 2024 and agree on directions for 2025.

At the event, leaders from the two sides shared information on the socio-economic situation, national defence, and security in 2024, and assessed the implementation of the contents in the memorandum of understanding signed in Muong Et.

The Party Committees, authorities, officials, Party members, and people of both districts have always promoted their special solidarity and friendship, regularly exchanged information and cooperated in economic and social fields.

They have actively coordinated in encouraging people in border communes to implement border regulations. They have also proactively resolved emerging issues regarding security and order, borderlines, and border markers, ensuring political stability and border security. Furthermore, they have created favourable conditions for businesses and people to trade and exchange goods.

The two districts agreed on cooperation contents for the upcoming period. This includes continuing to strengthen the coordination in legal education for people in border areas about the Vietnam-Laos border agreement and the policies and laws of both countries related to border management.

They also aim to increase joint patrols to protect the safety of the borderline system and border markers, and handle violations in a timely and effective manner. Additionally, they will create favourable conditions for businesses and production units to operate according to the law.

Moreover, they will facilitate the participation of officials, soldiers, and people in cultural, art, and sports exchanges, contributing to promoting the traditional solidarity between the Party Committees, authorities, and people of the two districts.
