At the event, the Veterans Associations of the two provinces informed each other about the socio-economic development situation of each province, exchanged experience in their activities in the past time, and shared solutions to improve the quality of the work in accordance with the conditions and characteristics of each province.

The two sides discussed and agreed on the contents of cooperation, and signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for the coming time. Accordingly, they will continue to coordinate in disseminating the special solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and the two associations in particular among their officials and members.

They agreed to exchange information, documents, mementos and remains of Vietnamese soldiers, conscripted labourers and experts who died in Xiengkhouang province and in Laos in general; exchange methods of organisation and operation from the provincial to the grassroots level and experience in hunger eradication, poverty reduction and household economic development among members; and set up a fund to help families of disadvantaged members.

They will create favourable conditions for veteran enterprises of the two countries to research the market and boost investment and business activities; and facilitate mutual visits, study tours and experience sharing.
