During the August 29-September 2 holiday, the province welcomed nearly 385,000 tourists, including 3,760 international visitors. The number of tourists with overnight stays reached 67,400, while the average room occupancy rate at accommodation establishments was 80%. Tourism revenue was estimated at 304 billion VND (11.67 million USD).
Localities across the province proactively and flexibly organised a wide range of cultural, sports and tourism activities during the holiday. Highlights included a series of events as part of the Moc Chau Culture and Tourism Week 2026, including the first Son La International Brocade Night, themed “Weaving Heritage, Harmonising Colours”; the “Moc Chau – Call of the Love Season” art programme; street community cultural performances; cultural and tourism camps; and culinary competitions.
A range of other events and festivals were also held across the province, including the Cultural Festival of Ethnic Groups in Tan Yen commune, Ban Doi Market, the “Van Ho Colours” Festival and the “Tet of Independence” Festival in the homeland of A Phu couple.
Popular attractions such as Moc Chau walking street, Ang hamlet pine forest, Bat cave, tea and persimmon gardens, as well as destinations in Ta Xua, Quynh Nhai, Phu Yen and Long Sap, continued to draw large numbers of visitors, creating a lively atmosphere to mark the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
Communes and wards stepped up inspections of price listings, public security, food safety, fire prevention and control, and environmental sanitation. Accommodation providers and tourist sites proactively allocated resources and prepared supplies to best meet visitors' needs, contributing to the promotion of Son La as a safe, welcoming destination with a rich cultural identity./.
