The Sang Na Tre Agricultural Cooperative in Chieng Mai commune processes coffee beans.
To ensure yield and quality, farmers have been encouraged to accelerate replanting, adopt proper pruning and cultivation techniques, and harvest to strict standards. Local growers and cooperatives have also shifted toward safe and organic production, strengthened pest control and taken preventive measures against frost during the harvest season.
The commune has sought stronger links with buyers and processors to support deep processing and boost value. This year’s crop exceeded 78,000 tonnes of coffee cherries, with prices ranging from 27,000 to 33,000 VND (1.03-1.25 USD) per kg, up nearly 10,000 VND from a year earlier, lifting incomes for local growers.
