Mai Son cooperative exports nearly 1,300 tonnes of red-fleshed dragon fruit

The Ngoc Hoang Agricultural Cooperative in Na Bo commune, Mai Son district has so far this year shipped more than 1,300 tonnes of red-fleshed dragon fruit to Russia, France, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Republic of Korea and Italy.

Its 200 members are growing nearly 86 hectares of red-flesh dragon fruit in Na Bo commune. The cooperative also associates with more than 100 households in Thuan Chau and Song Ma districts to grow 100 hectares of dragon fruit.

To meet export conditions, the cooperative has encouraged farmers to develop sustainable dragon fruit areas applying high technology, and control the entire farming process from fertilization to pruning, ensuring uniform fruits weighing from at least 350 grams each.

Currently, dragon fruit is priced at 22,000-35,000 VND (0.9-1.44 USD) per kg.
