Quynh Nhai’s autumn-winter rice yield surpasses 5 tonnes per hectare

This year’s autumn-winter crop saw Quynh Nhai commune cultivate over 340 hectares of rice, primarily the 87, 86, and 89 varieties, along with several local glutinous rice strains.

Favourable weather, attentive crop care, and sufficient irrigation have helped Quynh Nhai farmers achieve strong rice growth this season. Nearly 300 hectares have been harvested so far, with an average yield topping 5 tonnes per hectare. Alongside rice harvesting, local authorities are guiding farmers to prepare about 200 hectares for the cultivation of vegetables, corn, and peanut.
