Son La applies high technology in growing more than 1,000 hectares of coffee

The northwestern province of Son La has two recognised high-tech coffee areas with over 1,000 hectares, and 1,560 farmer households involved.

Technical staff of Phuc Sinh Son La Corporation instructs farmers in Cu hamlet, Chieng Ban commune, Mai Son district to collect coffee.

One of which is a 671-hectare area owned by Phuc Sinh Son La Corporation and the other, over 368 hectares, by Tuan Ut Son La Co., Ltd.

Since the beginning of this year, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has cooperated with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in implementing a model of improving coffee productivity and quality by cutting, pruning and planting big trees for shadow on 9 hectares of coffee of 40 households in Thuan Chau and Mai Son districts.

Weather and disease warning equipment has been installed on coffee trees in Muong Yen hamlet, Chieng Co commune, Mai Son district.
