Son La jumps 5 places in PAPI index

Son La province has ranked 25th out of the 63 provinces and cities nationwide in the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) 2024, up 5 places from 2023, with 43.88 points.

The index was announced by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the Centre for Research and Training of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Centre for Community Support and Development Studies (CECODES) on April 15.

Among the indicators, Son La had the ‘accountability to the people’ in the high score group, and four in the high average score group.

The comparison table of eight indicators of Son La PAPI Index in 2023 and 2024.

To achieve this result, the province focused on leading and directing the implementation of solutions to improve the PAPI; continuing to transparently publish information, processes, and administrative procedures for people to know and join hands in implementation; bettering mass mobilisation work; and creating conditions for people to participate in government building.

The index measures the effectiveness of governance and public administration at the provincial level based on people's experiences and assessments when interacting with local authorities. It is a tool to monitor and supervise the capacity of state management, policy enforcement, and public service provision of local authorities, helping them have a basis to adjust and improve work efficiency, and better serve the people.
