Son La optimises e-commerce in product sale

The Union of Science and Technology Associations of Son La province on November 27 organised a workshop on the application of e-commerce in fruit product consumption connectivity for a number of businesses and cooperatives in the locality.

A view of the workshop

Son La counts 399 enterprises and cooperatives growing fruit trees, and 11 others specialising in agricultural science-technology, along with 100 cooperatives that have set up production and consumption links with about 22,000 households.

At the end of 2022, 24 products in the province had been granted with protection certificates, of which 12 were fruit products.

Trade promotion and connectivity for consumption and export of goods, especially fruit products, have been stepped up in many forms such as online activities targeting both domestic and foreign markets, livestream events, and others via Zalo and Facebook. Businesses and cooperatives have been supported to participate in reputable e-commerce platforms at home and abroad such as Sendo, Shopee, Lazada, Aibaba and Voso.

Son La’s fruit products have been put up for sale in both domestic and foreign markets. Last year, the province shipped 18,608 tonnes of fruit products abroad worth some 25.2 million USD.

The participants exchanged views on the communications work to push ahead with the implementation of guidelines and policies on e-commerce application in farm produce consumption connectivity, issues emerging in the work, solutions to raise the efficiency of State management in this regard, and the application of the Geographic Information System (GIS) technology in growing area management and connectivity for fruit product sale by businesses in the locality.

The union acquired the opinions, based on which it will propose comprehensive solutions to the provincial People's Committee, departments and agencies in order to gradually promote digital economy and e-commerce application in connectivity for fruit product sale in the province./.
