Son La promotes harvest, sale of agricultural products

Since the beginning of this year, local authorities and agencies in Son La province have directed the organisation of agricultural production; promoted dissemination and guided people on techniques to plant and care for fruit trees, especially following VietGAP and organic production processes to ensure quality products able to serve both domestic and export markets.

Farmers in Than hamlet, Chieng Pan commune, Yen Chau district harvest sugar cane.

Attention has been also paid to strengthening management over the quality of agro-forestry-fishery products; and developing and replicating production models applying scientific and technological advances.

In the first quarter of this year, the province harvested and sold nearly 400,000 tonnes of sugar cane, 260 tonnes of fresh tea buds and nearly 15,300 tonnes of banana, orange and some other fruits. It is well preparing necessary conditions for harvesting and selling mango and plum.
