Son La province’s aquatic output surpasses 3,000 tonnes

Currently, Son La province has 3,011 hectares dedicated to aquaculture, with 7,100 fish cages in hydropower reservoir, primarily located in the districts of Quynh Nhai, Muong La, Van Ho, Phu Yen, and Bac Yen.

Since the beginning of 2025, the province’s aquatic output has exceeded 3,000 tonnes, marking a 4.6% increase year-on-year. Relevant sectors have released fingerlings to regenerate aquatic resources and organised training programmes to transfer cage fish farming techniques to local residents.

At the same time, cooperatives and household businesses have been encouraged to diversify key local aquatic products, improve competitiveness, and invest in cold storage and aquatic product processing facilities.
