Keeping pace with the development trend of science and technology, many businesses in Son La province have paid attention to renovating, upgrading and investing in modern, automated machinery systems and production lines, towards the goal of greening production.

Son La province currently has nearly 5,850 hectares of tea, with the main varieties of Kim Tuyen, Shan, Van Son, and Olong. Since the beginning of this year, the output of fresh tea buds has reached 51,430 tonnes, up 0.62% year-on-year.

The total output of aquatic products in Son La province in the first 11 months of 2023 was estimated at 8,685 tonnes, up 243 tonnes or 2.88% year-on-year.

Son La province currently has 3,453 enterprises, with a total registered capital of more than 53.76 trillion VND (2.21 billion USD). They mainly operate in the fields of construction, industry, agriculture, forestry, fisheries and tourism, creating jobs for thousands of local labourers.

In 2023, Son La city has coordinated with Viettel Son La and VNPT Son La to guide and support people to install and use Viettel Money and VNPT Money e-wallets.

The provincial Agricultural Extension Centre on December 11 organised a visit to typical economic development models in Mai Son district for more than 100 delegates who are representatives from cooperatives, technical and agricultural extension officials and farmers in the province.

The export value of agricultural products in Son La province is estimated at 177.6 million USD in 2023, up 8.8% over the same period last year.

Moc Chau district is home to a total area of ​​2,149 hectares of tea, mainly in Chieng Son and Tan Lap communes, and Moc Chau Farm town.

An Arabica coffee planting project is underway in Quynh Chien hamlet, Phong Lai commune, Thuan Chau district, with the investor being Detech Coffee Joint Stock Company.

After nearly eight months of operation, the Doveco Son La Fruit and Vegetable Processing Centre has purchased over 23,000 tonnes of agricultural products of all kinds for processing.
