The training workshop on Teak seedling propagation and plating in Yen Chau commune.
The 1.5-day workshop brings together 25 local farmer union members, who are provided with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice by experts and lecturers from the SRI.
The training covered techniques for planting, caring for, and developing Teak trees, including technical requirements for seedlings, planting conditions, seed propagation, afforestation, forest protection, pruning, thinning, and pest control.
In addition, participants are provided with knowledge on planting and caring for Cinnamomum balansae, a tree species with high economic value well-suited to the climate and soil conditions of the Northwestern region.

An officer from the Silviculture Research Institute delivers tree planting techniques.
This activity is part of the project on promoting quality timber production using Teak and other valuable tree species in households and communities in the tropics (PP-Q/54-331A), which aims to enhance production skills, promote sustainable forest development, and improve community livelihoods through sustainable forestry production models.

Through the workshop, farmers are equipped with skills for planting, caring for, and developing Teak and Cinnamomum balansae, combining Teak with other crops to increase profit and forest quality, thereby contributing to raising income and protecting forest resources.
