The Thai Ethnic Cultural Club has 35 members, including artisans, people knowledgeable about traditional culture, art performers and local residents. The club will organise cultural exchanges, share experience and pass on the distinctive cultural values of the Thai ethnic group, including its language and script, folk songs, folk dances, traditional performing arts, handicrafts, games and traditional sports.
As part of the programme, the club reenacted the Han Khuong Festival through cultural and artistic exchanges and call-and-response singing, allowing young men and women to get to know one another, find life partners and strengthen community solidarity.
The festival is a distinctive form of folk cultural activity among the Black Thai people, helping preserve customs and traditions, educate younger generations about ethnic heritage and community solidarity, while expressing aspirations for a prosperous and happy life and bountiful harvests.
