“Comrades’ House” handed over to disadvantaged military family in Muong Lam commune

The provincial Military Command, in coordination with the Muong Lam communal authorities, held a ceremony on August 27 to inaugurate and hand over a “Comrades’ House” to the family of Senior Lieutenant Giang A Cao, an officer in charge of personnel affairs at the Muong Lam communal Military Command.

Construction of the new house began in late June 2026 and was completed after more than a month, meeting quality standards. 

Cao’s family, residing in Huoi Lech hamlet, had been facing difficulties with housing. The 100sq.m single-storey house features a tiled floor and corrugated metal roof. 

The house cost more than 150 million VND (5,750 USD) to build. Of the total, Military Region 2 provided 60 million VND from the Ministry of National Defence’s “For the Poor” Fund. The Muong Lam communal Military Command and residents of Huoi Lech hamlet contributed 120 working days, while the family covered the remaining costs.

The selection and support process was carried out democratically, transparently and in accordance with regulations and eligibility criteria, helping disadvantaged military personnel stabilise their lives and feel more secure in their work./.
