Workshop seeks to build “Van Ho bamboo shoot” certification mark

The People’s Committee of Van Ho district on November 26 coordinated with the Centre for Research and Development of Agricultural Systems under the Field Crops Research Institute of the provincial Department of Science and Technology to organise a workshop to give comments on a dossier on the protection and development of the “Van Ho bamboo shoot” certification mark.

At the event, a representative of the consulting unit introduced six logo samples; and the identified geographical areas of “Van Ho bamboo shoot” certification mark, namely Tan Xuan, Xuan Nha, Chieng Xuan, Chieng Yen and Muong Men communes of Van Ho district; a set of criteria for certifying the quality of products bearing the certification mark; the process, and techniques for production, preservation, packaging and transportation of bamboo shoot products bearing the certification mark; and a sample certificate of the right to use the certification mark.

Participants discussed and agreed on the logo; sensory indicators; regulations, planning, expansion of growing areas and growing area codes; regulations on types and groups of protected products; regulations on the use and management of the certification mark, and a system of regulations on quality control of products bearing the certification mark to complete the profile.
