Marathon captures charm of Yen Chau district in spring

A marathon kicked off in Phieng Khoai commune, Yen Chau district on February 15, highlighting the district’s breathtaking spring scenery.

Early in the morning, nearly 1,000 athletes from agencies, businesses, and localities across Yen Chau district, along with runner clubs from inside and outside the province, gathered for the highly anticipated marathon.

Participants in the 15-kilometer race started from the Mo Than hamlet cultural house in Long Phieng commune, passing through Hang Mon hamlet (Phieng Khoai commune), Kim Chung hamlet, the Duong Moi (New Road) intersection, the Tam Thanh hamlet cultural house, the Kien Cuong pear orchard, and the Kim Chung 2 plum valley, and finishing at the Kim Chung 2 Stadium.

Meanwhile, runners in the 7-kilometer race set off from the Dan Don flower valley intersection, ran through the Duong Moi (New Road) intersection, the Tam Thanh hamlet cultural house, the Kien Cuong pear garden, and the Kim Chung 2 plum valley, and crossed the finish line at the Kim Chung 2 Stadium.

The marathon took place under ideal weather conditions, adding to the excitement of the event. Runners were thrilled to race along scenic routes winding through plum and pear blossom valleys in Phieng Khoai commune, cheered on by enthusiastic crowds from the local community.

Organisers awarded four first, four second, four third, and 28 consolation prizes to male and female runners across all race distances.
