16th provincial Party Congress for 2025–2030 term closes

After three days of urgent, serious, and highly responsible working, on the morning of September 29, the 16th Congress of the provincial Party Organisation for the 2025-2030 term successfully completed its entire agenda and officially concluded.

Attending the closing session were Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Deputy Secretaries of the provincial Party Committee; members of the provincial Party Committee and its Standing Board; leaders of the provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of central ministries, departments, and mass organisations; among others. 

The Congress was attended by 400 official delegates from 79 Party organisations under the provincial Party Committee, representation over 94,300 Party members in the entire province.

The Congress affirmed that with a spirit of unity and consensus, the Party, government, and people of all ethnic groups in the province had overcome numerous difficulties and challenges, leveraging their potential and strengths to successfully implement the Resolution of the 15th provincial Party Congress. Important and comprehensive results were achieved across various areas: Party building, political system strengthening, socio-economic development, national defence, security, and external relations. These outcomes have laid a solid foundation and momentum for the province's development in the coming years.

The Congress also openly reviewed and analyzed the shortcomings, limitations, and their causes, drawing valuable lessons to apply in the leadership and direction for the 2025-2030 term.

The Congress focused on discussing and reached consensus on 24 key targets, three strategic breakthroughs, and nine focal tasks for leadership and direction, demonstrating the determination to develop Son La in a rapid, green, and sustainable manner. It entrusted the provincial Party Committee with the task of leading, directing, concretising, and successfully implementing the Resolution. It also approved the summary report of contributions to the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

The Congress elected the provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 54 members. At its first meeting, the 16th provincial Party Committee elected its Standing Board with 14 members, the Secretary and Deputy Secretaries of the provincial Party Committee, and the provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Board and its head.

The Congress expressed its hope and confidence that the new provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term will continue promoting the tradition of unity and consensus, innovating leadership methods, and successfully implementing the Resolution of the 16th provincial Party Congress.

The Congress also elected 21 official delegates and three alternate delegates representing the intelligence of the Party organisation and the will and aspirations of Party members and the people of all ethnic groups in the province to attend the 14th National Party Congress.

Delivering the closing speech, Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the 16th provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, emphasised that immediately after the Congress, all Party organisations must thoroughly study and grasp the Congress’s Resolution and documents so that each cadre, Party member, armed forces officer, and citizen fully understands the key goals, tasks, and solutions outlined in the reports and Resolution.

At the same time, they must develop action programs to implement the Resolution in a specific, realistic, timely, and feasible manner, with many solutions suitable to the practical conditions of each industry, locality, and unit.

The Congress called on all cadres, Party members, armed forces, and people of all ethnic groups in the province to uphold the revolutionary and united tradition, foster self-reliance, creativity, and absolute trust in the leadership of the provincial Party Committee, and strive to successfully implement the Resolution of the 16th provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
