35th thematic session of Son La provincial People’s Council opens

The Son La provincial People’s Council for the 15th term (2021-2026), held its 35th thematic session to review and decide on matters within its authority under the law on October 18.

The session was chaired by Nguyen Thai Hung, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, and Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People’s Council.

Attending the meeting were Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, and head of the province’s delegation of NA deputies; and Vi Duc Tho, member of the Standing Board of the Party Committee and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; among others.

At the session, the People’s Council reviewed and approved a resolution setting policies and regimes for personnel working beyond the staffing quota in associations assigned tasks by the Party and State at the provincial and district levels before July 1, 2025, and another repealing Resolution No. 26/2022/NQ-HDND dated March 16, 2022, which regulated support for social policy beneficiaries in Son La province.

The session approved the dismissal of Cha A Cua from the position of Vice Chairman of the People’s Council, as he was assigned to another post by the competent authority. Delegates also elected Vi Duc Tho as Vice Chairman of the People’s Council; and Ha Trung Chien, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of To Hieu ward, as Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

At the session, Nguyen Thai Hung urged the provincial People’s Committee to swiftly implement the resolutions that have been passed in full compliance with the law. He emphasised focusing on preparing thoroughly for the year-end 2025 regular session of the People’s Council, and strengthening oversight of resolution implementation.
