Over the past five years, local chapters of the Women’s Union have translated the emulation movement “Building the image of Vietnamese women in the new era” into action, aligning it with the goal of cultivating the image of Son La women as united, compassionate, friendly, creative, and aspirational. These efforts are closely tied to promoting the study and practice of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style.
The chapters have launched and maintained 5,149 savings models inspired by President Ho Chi Minh, accumulating over 15 billion VND (578,860 USD). These funds have provided loans to nearly 8,000 members for economic development. Additionally, 756 economic models involving female leadership have been established, while support was registered for 3,330 poor and near-poor households. Of these, 870 households have since escaped poverty based on multidimensional poverty criteria.

The “Building families with 5 No’s, 3 Clean’s” campaign has been integrated into the implementation of the province’s new-style rural commune criteria. A total of 204 grassroots chapters have registered and carried out 580 projects and initiatives, contributing to the development of new-style rural areas and civilised urban communities.
The union has supported 42,293 households in meeting all eight criteria of the model, while maintaining 78 “Plastic waste collection” models with 2,730 members and 152 source-based waste classification models involving 11,583 members.
In collaboration with partners, the union has also rolled out the project “Promoting gender equality through enhancing the efficiency of agricultural production and tourism development in Lao Cai and Son La provinces,” benefiting 11,805 women.
Over the past five years, the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee has awarded certificates of merit to 141 collectives and 37 individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
The provincial People’s Committee has also honoured 31 collectives and 39 individuals, while various departments and sectors have commended 41 collectives and 102 individuals. Additionally, the provincial Women’s Union has awarded certificates of merit to 297 collectives and 578 individuals.
