75th anniversary of Traditional Day of Vietnam Youth Volunteer Force celebrated in Son La

The Son La city Association of Former Youth Volunteers held a ceremony on May 9 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Youth Volunteer Force (July 15, 1950 – 2025) and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – 2025).

Delegates offer incense and flowers at the memorial to youth volunteer martyrs at Co Noi T-junction in Mai Son district.

At the gathering, delegates recounted glorious milestones achieved by the Vietnamese army and people during the resistance wars against French colonialists and American imperialists. Youth volunteers were present along every route to frontlines, fighting bravely, paving ways through mountains to build roads, ensuring smooth transportation under all circumstances, and transporting tens of thousands of tonnes of goods, weapons, and food to battlefields, contributing to the nation's historic victories.

With seven chapters and 122 members, the city association has consistently aligned its activities with the local political tasks and practical conditions, bringing together and uniting former youth volunteers who fulfilled their duties during the two resistance wars, as well as in the period of socialism construction.

In addition, the association has effectively upheld its responsibilities in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members and actively cooperated with the city youth union to promote revolutionary traditions and the legacy of the youth volunteer force among younger generations.
