Efforts needed to speed up construction on Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway

Son La province’s steering committee for the construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway’s section in the province on August 7 held a meeting seeking ways to accelerate the project implementation.

The investment plan for this section was approved by the provincial People's Council in Resolution No. 80/NQ-HDND dated May 10, 2022; and adjusted in Resolution No. 89/NQ-HDND dated June 29, 2022. On November 2, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1316/QD-TTg adding the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau - Son La expressway project to the lists of important national projects and key projects of the transport sector for monitoring.

To date, the survey work has been completed, and a feasibility study report has been made and submitted to the competent authorities for appraisal. Local authorities have also finished an environmental impact assessment report; counted land areas and assets on land to estimate the costs of ground clearance compensation and resettlement; determined and agreed on the junctions between sections of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project.

In the coming time, the steering committee will continue to direct the review and preparation for the permitted conditions as prescribed, so that as soon as the Prime Minister has an official document assigning the Son La provincial People's Committee to be in charge of the investment, procedures will be conducted for the project implementation./.
