Election candidates deliver pledges to voters with highest sense of responsibility, determination

The Standing Board of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee organised a voter meeting in To Hieu ward on February 26 with candidates for the 16th National Assembly (NA) for the 2026–2031 term at the Election Constituency No. 1.

Attending the event were Hoang Van Nghiem, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of the provincial Delegation of NA Deputies; Quang Van Huong, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly’s Council for Ethnic Affairs; Nguyen Manh Hung, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Hoang Thi Doi, member of the National Assembly’s Council for Ethnic Affairs and full-time deputy head of the provincial Delegation of NA Deputies; along with a large number of voters from To Hieu and Chieng An wards.

At the meeting, the Standing Board of the provincial VFF Committee informed voters of the legal basis and the official list of candidates in accordance with the Law on Election of Deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils, and introduced the candidates’ brief biographies.

Accordingly, for the 16th legislature, the Election Constituency No. 1 includes Hoang Van Nghiem, Quang Van Huong, and three other candidates.

The candidates presented their action programmes, clearly outlining their goals and orientations if elected to the 16th NA. The programmes focus on solutions for socio-economic development, infrastructure investment, preservation of ethnic cultural identities, and sustainable tourism development; proposals to improve policies on agriculture, processing and market development of agro-forestry-fishery products; strengthening supervision and social criticism; participating in the formulation of synchronised and feasible policies and laws, especially those related to ethnic minority communities; and promptly reflecting the legitimate aspirations and concerns of the people to competent authorities.

The action programmes were aligned with the candidates’ professional backgrounds and positions, addressing pressing practical issues. The candidates also expressed their commitment to staying close to voters and the people, listening to their concerns and recommendations, and truthfully conveying these to the National Assembly and People’s Councils if entrusted by voters.

Voters spoke highly of the action programmes and expressed confidence that they will uphold responsibility and intellect to contribute to the overall development of the locality and the country.

On behalf of the candidates, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nghiem affirmed that if elected, he will fulfill his action programme and pledges to voters with the highest sense of responsibility and determination, and the interests of the people, the country and the province placed above all. He also committed to listening to, collecting and faithfully conveying the legitimate opinions and recommendations of the people to the NA and competent authorities for consideration and response in accordance with regulations.
