Election day buzz builds along Ma River

Voters turned out early in Song Ma commune for election day, arriving at polling stations in formal attire and high spirits to take part in the country’s major event. Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the election and cast his ballot.

A total of 885 voters cast ballots at Polling Station No. 5 in Residential Area 5. On the important day, Song Ma commune was selected as one of four locations for live television coverage on the province’s STV channel. Preparations were therefore carried out early and thoroughly by the local Party committee and authorities.

Nguyen Tien Hai, Secretary of the commune Party Committee, Chairman of the commune People’s Council and head of the commune Election Committee, said that after being selected as a live broadcast location, the election committee coordinated with provincial agencies to review all infrastructure conditions, including stage arrangements, electricity supply, transmission lines and support staff.

Authorities also stepped up public outreach, highlighting the significance of the election and encouraging voters to cast their ballots fully and on time. Preparations were completed, ensuring the election day proceeds in a democratic, safe and lawful manner, he said.

Song Ma commune is part of the province’s Constituency No. 13. The commune has 16,830 voters, arranged across seven electoral units and 19 polling stations.
 
Voters in Song Ma elected three deputies to the National Assembly, five to the provincial People’s Council, and 25 to the commune People’s Council.
 
Local authorities carried out election preparations in line with regulations, with voter lists and candidates’ brief biographies publicly posted. Ballot boxes and private voting booths were fully arranged to ensure convenient conditions for voters to exercise their civic rights.

He acknowledged the thorough preparations by local Party committees and authorities, and called on election teams to continue strictly following procedures to ensure the vote proceeds in a democratic, safe and lawful manner.
