Extra efforts needed to accelerate construction on inter-level schools in 13 border communes

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet chaired a meeting on February 5, urging faster progress in the investment and construction of primary-secondary boarding schools in border communes.

Attending the event were Ha Trung Chien, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Minh Tien, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; and Dao Tai Tue, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Director of the provincial Department of Construction. It was held online and connected to project sites in the communes.

According to reports from relevant units, compensation and site clearance for the construction have so far basically remained on schedule. All 13 communes have issued land acquisition plans and notices, and are implementing compensation payments to local residents in accordance with regulations.

All 13 projects have obtained appraisal results for site leveling items and have submitted main project components to the Department of Construction for appraisal; seven out of them have already received appraisal results for the main components.

All 13 projects have completed approval of contractor selection plans and the appointment of survey and design consultants for implementation after the basic design stage, with more than 535 billion VND (20.6 million USD) already disbursed and paid. Regarding construction progress, most key items such as site leveling, excavation and embankment, and construction of main building blocks are being carried out synchronously, meeting the set requirements.

Speaking at the meeting, Viet acknowledged and appreciated the proactive efforts of departments, sectors, project owners and construction units in implementing the projects.

He also requested project owners and localities to focus on accelerating site clearance and ensuring timely compensation payments to households before the Lunar New Year.

Relevant departments and sectors were asked to coordinate in reviewing and assessing investment scale and facilities to ensure uniformity across all projects.

Project owners were instructed to direct contractors to mobilise maximum machinery and manpower to speed up construction progress and to complete all legal procedures in strict accordance with the law.
