Fish release aims to restore aquatic resources in Quynh Nhai reservoir

Quynh Nhai district on December 7 organized a ceremony to release fish with the aim of restoring aquatic resources in the Son La hydropower reservoir.

The event was attended by Lo Viet Phuong, deputy head of the National Assembly Standing Committee’s Ombudsman; Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; leaders from Quynh Nhai, Muong La, and Yen Chau districts; as well as representatives from the Son La Hydropower Company and the Son La Electricity Company.

The ritual part was chaired by folk artisans Dieu Van Minh and Hoang Van Chiem. It was performed to express gratitude to the water deities for providing abundant aquatic resources for local people throughout the year. It also included prayers for good health, luck, bountiful harvests, and further enhancement of aquatic resources, helping to improve the livelihoods of local communities.

After the ritual, the delegates released more than 3,000 fingerlings of various species, including the Lang (Bagridae) and carp, into the Son La hydropower reservoir.

This meaningful activity aimed to restore natural aquatic resources and raise awareness among organizations, individuals, and communities about the importance and value of aquatic resources in daily life, thus fostering a greater sense of responsibility in protecting these resources and preserving the natural ecological environment.
