Nguyen Thai Hung, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, attended the event, along with leaders of some provincial departments and agencies.

Responding to the call from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province, Chieng Mai commune has rallied support from local officials, civil servants, and armed forces to aid those affected by floods between July 19 and 27. Embracing the spirit of solidarity and mutual support, the campaign seeks to share responsibility and compassion with disaster-hit communities, helping flood victims soon stabilise their lives.

At the launch ceremony, the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Chieng Mai received 17.6 million VND (171.76 USD) in donations from local officials, civil servants, workers, and armed forces. The entire amount will be transferred to Chieng So commune to support households affected by the recent floods.
The same day, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of To Hieu ward launched a similar campaign. Local officials, public employees, workers, and armed forces contributed over 50 million VND during the event.

All proceeds will be used to provide one tonne of rice to Muong Lam commune and 100 essential aid packages, each worth 250,000 VND, to Chieng So commune, supporting households affected by the recent floods and helping them stabilise their lives.
