The Chieng Dong Water Supply Plant and its clean water transmission pipeline system are invested by Son La Water Supply Joint Stock Company, with a total investment of 260.4 billion VND (9.9 million USD). It has a designed capacity of 14,000 cubic meters per day.

The plant is to be built on an area of approximately 1.2 hectares in Xum hamlet, with a full range of synchronised facilities including water treatment systems, storage tanks, electrical, chemical and sludge treatment systems, and notably raw water pipelines, transmission pipelines, and a clean water distribution network. He emphasised the need to complete and put the project into operation as soon as possible to meet local residents’ needs.

He also called for effective management and operation of the project to ensure clean water quality and supply capacity that meet both current and future domestic and production-business demands.

The Party Committee of the provincial People’s Committee was asked to direct relevant departments and agencies to closely coordinate, create the most favourable conditions, and promptly address difficulties and obstacles arising during project implementation.
