Receiving the ambassador and the Indian delegation were Hoang Quoc Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; leaders of local departments and agencies.
At the reception, Khanh warmly welcomed the ambassador and his entourage to visit Son La an informed the guests about the province’s outstanding achievements in politics, socio-economy, defence and security.
The Chairman of the provincial People's Committee expressed his hope that Indian businesses will be interested in investment cooperation with Son La in the coming time. The province commits to always accompanying, supporting, and creating the most favourable conditions for Indian investors to invest and do business in the locality, he said, adding that Son La will support tourism promotion, and connections for consumption of the province's agricultural products in the Indian market. He wished that the ambassador will help the province strengthen and expand relationships with donors and non-governmental organisations.
Sandeep Arya thanked the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and other local leaders for their warm welcome and expressed his wish to become a bridge for investment cooperation in Son La province, especially in the fields of agriculture, agricultural product export, mineral exploitation and hydroelectric construction.
The ambassador suggested Son La province send delegations to visit India and early implement joint projects on education and culture. India will support the province in carrying out projects to build schools and hospitals, organise training courses, and grant scholarships; promote cultural exchange and tourism; and develop Yoga, contributing to deepening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and India, he added.
