"Learning Never Ends" scholarships awarded

The provincial Association for Promoting Education on April 25 held the "Learning Never Ends" scholarship award ceremony and launched the "Digital Literacy" movement in 2025.

Attending the event were Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and head of the provincial Delegation to the National Assembly; leaders of several departments and agencies; and 173 individuals with outstanding achievements in the "Learning Never Ends" movement.

The scholarship is an initiative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, aiming to implement President Ho Chi Minh's teachings for students who actively learn, overcome difficulties, and achieve excellent results, and adults with outstanding academic achievements, effectively applying the knowledge they have learned to work, and being shining examples of lifelong learning in society and the community.

In Son La province, the emulation movement to build a learning society following President Ho Chi Minh's ideology of "Learning Never Ends" has spread widely to localities, agencies, units, enterprises, families, clans and individuals.

Now the whole province has 234,902 "Learning Citizens"; 213,055 "Learning Families"; 1,037 "Learning Clans"; 2,227 "Learning Communities"; and 875 "Learning Units". Among them, there are many typical collectives and individuals in the "Learning Never Ends" movement. In three years (2022-2024), the province awarded "Learning Never Ends" scholarships to nearly 600 outstanding adults and students.

The 173 individuals honoured and awarded scholarships this time are exemplary farmers, individuals awarded the titles of excellent doctors, meritorious artists, Ph.D holders and excellent teachers; outstanding students, and those winning national prizes. The total value of scholarships is 185 million VND (7,109 USD).

Speaking at the ceremony, Viet requested localities, agencies, departments, sectors and organisations to continue paying attention to the work of promoting learning and encouraging talent, stepping the dissemination of learning, thoroughly grasping and applying effectively President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on self-study, lifelong learning, and building a learning society with diverse forms that suit local realities.

The Chairman of the provincial People's Committee hands over the money to support the To Hieu Scholarship Fund donated by collectives and individuals inside and outside the province to the provincial Association for Promoting Education.

Immediately after the award ceremony, the organising board launched the "Learning Never Ends" movement and the "Digital Literacy" movement for 2025.
