Lo Minh Hung re-elected as Chairman of 16th provincial People’s Council with absolute approval

Continuing the agenda of the first session of the 16th provincial People’s Council (2026–2031 term), after hearing the proposals introducing personnel, the council proceeded to elect the Chairperson and Vice Chairpersons of the provincial People’s Council and heads of its committees on March 29.

As a result, Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the 15th provincial People’s Council, was re-elected as Chairman of the 16th provincial People’s Council with 100% approval from all attending delegates. The council adopted a resolution confirming the result of election of its chairperson for the 2026–2031 term.

Also receiving unanimous approval, Vi Duc Tho, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Standing Vice Chairman of the 15th provincial People’s Council, and Nguyen Viet Cuong, Vice Chairman of the 15th provincial People’s Council, were elected as Vice Chairpersons of the 16th provincial People’s Council (2026–2031 term). The council passed a resolution confirming the Vice Chairperson election results.

To complete the organisational structure, the provincial People’s Council elected heads of its committees and adopted resolutions confirming the election outcomes.

On behalf of those elected to key positions of the 16th provincial People’s Council (2026–2031 term), Hung expressed his sincere and deepest gratitude to the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat; Hoang Van Nghiem, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of the provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; as well as the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, the provincial Party Committee, and all members of the provincial People’s Council for their trust and confidence.

In their new roles, Hung and the newly elected officials pledged to uphold the revolutionary tradition and valuable experience of previous generations; to strive with a strong sense of responsibility toward the Party Organisation, authorities, and people of all ethnic groups in the province; to promote the strength of the entire political system and the support of voters; and to continuously innovate and improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the People’s Council operations.

They also committed to continuously cultivating revolutionary moral qualities; to live and work in accordance with the Constitution and the law; to strictly comply with the leadership of the Party Central Committee and the provincial Party Committee; to resolutely fight against corruption, wastefulness, negative practices, and “group interests”; and to maintain unity, dynamism, and creativity in overcoming all challenges. The goal is to ensure that the People’s Council truly serves as the local state power body, representing the will, aspirations, and mastery of the people.
