Luang Prabang delegation pays courtesy visit to Son La Party Committee’s Standing Board

A delegation from Laos’ Luang Prabang province led by Bunluom Manivong, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Vice Governor, and Chairman of the provincial Border Committee, paid a courtesy visit to the Standing Board of the Son La provincial Party Committee on May 9.

Receiving the delegation were Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Son La provincial Party Committee; members of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board; standing members of the provincial People’s Committee; and leaders of several provincial departments and sectors.

In an atmosphere imbued with solidarity and special friendship, on behalf of the Son La provincial leaders, Hung warmly welcomed the Luang Prabang working delegation, congratulating them on the successful 15th border work meeting between the two provinces held earlier on the May 9 morning.

He provided updates on key tasks regarding border affairs in the coming time, organisational restructuring and administrative unit arrangements, preparations for upcoming Party congresses at all levels, digital transformation efforts, and the implementation of socio-economic development goals of the province.

Son La province is committed to implementing the contents of cooperation as agreed upon in the minutes between the two sides, strengthening activities to maintain border security and stability, and contributing to promoting the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos, particularly between Son La and Luang Prabang, he said.

Bunluom Manivong expressed his sincere thanks for the warm and respectful reception from Son La provincial leaders during this working visit. Following the 15th border work meeting, the two provinces will continue to coordinate and effectively implement the agreed-upon contents.

He emphasised the need for proactive cooperation and information exchange to ensure border security and order, and to build a Vietnam-Laos border of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development. He also expressed hope that in the near future, Luang Prabang will welcome working delegations from Son La, and wished for continued cooperation across all fields, further deepening the Vietnam-Laos friendship and strengthening the bond between the two provinces.
