Mai Son summarises removal of temporary, dilapidated houses

Mai Son district held a conference on May 8 to summarise the work of eliminating makeshift and substandard houses in the locality.

The event saw the presence of Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; leaders of several provincial departments and sectors.

Mai Son had 523 poor households, and policy families with housing difficulties in need of support, including 476 newly built and 47 repaired homes. To date, the whole district has completed 100% of the plan. In addition to the State budget aid of more than 27 billion VND ($1.04 million), the district mobilised organisations and individuals to contribute nearly 3 billion VND and nearly 10,000 workdays.

Speaking at the conference, Minh appreciated the proactiveness, dynamism, creativity and active support for this work of agencies, units, enterprises and people in the district.

He requested local authorities and people to promote the achieved results, continue to review policy beneficiaries, poor households and those with housing difficulties; replicate good and effective practices in the work.

He emphasised the importance of promoting the spirit of solidarity, autonomy, and consensus; and actively call for the support of organisations and individuals to join hands in helping poor and disadvantaged households.

On this occasion, the district People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 12 collectives and 32 individuals with outstanding achievements in the work in 2025.
