Ministry of Public Security delegation pays pre-Tet visit to Son La province

General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, on January 30 led a working delegation to visit and extend New Year wishes to policemen and people of all ethnic groups in Son La province.

The delegation was welcomed by Nguyen Huu Dong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and head of the provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Lo Minh Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Hoang Quoc Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Dong briefed the delegation on Party building, socio-economic development, defence and security situation in Son La province in 2023; and preparation of activities to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2024.

He said Son La province has established 15 working groups led by a member of the provincial Party Committee’s standing board to pay pre-Tet visits to border communes, border posts, checkpoints, border gates and units of the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Public Security, and Military Region 2 stationed in the locality, and a number of agencies and units.

The province has also delivered Tet support for 50,690 beneficiaries, with a total value of over 26 billion VND (1.07 million USD), he added.

General To Lam praised the province’s Party building, socio-economic development, defence and security safeguarding results in 2023. In 2024, he asked the province to continue to effectively implement the goals set in the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the 15th Congress of the provincial Party Organisation.

The province should pay attention to well implementing regulations on coordination between the Central Public Security Party Committee and provinces and cities in ensuring security and order; while creating conditions to build a clean and comprehensively strong public security force of Son La, he noted.

On this occasion, General To Lam and the working delegation presented 400 gifts to policy beneficiary families, people who rendered service to the nation, poor households, and policemen stationed Phu Yen district. They also donated one ambulance to the district Medical Center.
