Accompanying him were leaders of several provincial departments and sectors, as well as representatives of the project investor and the construction contractor.
The project has a total investment of over 300 billion VND (11.57 million USD), with the Moc Chau Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor and Thang Long Construction Company as the contractor. The construction period lasts from 2021 to 2025.
The project includes a main traffic axis with a length of over 1,854 metres and a road surface width of 15 metres; a technical infrastructure system for a centralised resettlement area covering approximately 28,845 sq.m, with a total length of roads within the resettlement area exceeding 561 metres; an access road to Chieng Di hamlet with a length of 584 metres; and an operations and tourism development promotion centre with a usable area of about 1,300 sq.m.
Regarding implementation progress, land clearance has been completed on more than 11,930 sq.m, and the contractor is currently carrying out construction items on the land that has been handed over. The project has disbursed 197 billion VND to date. At present, the project’s implementation period has expired, and the investor has proposed the provincial People’s Committee allow an extension of the project duration.
During implementation, the project has encountered several difficulties, including land recovery issues affecting some households who face significant hardships; shortcomings in the relocation of power lines and the installation of transformer stations, requiring redesign of the road to suit current conditions; and ongoing challenges in resettlement arrangements for affected households.
Speaking at the working session, Chien requested the investor coordinate with the construction contractor to prepare a supervision report on project implementation in accordance with legal regulations as a basis for requesting an extension of the project duration.
He assigned the Department of Finance to appraise the project extension proposal. Regarding resettlement for households affected by the project, he emphasised the need to review and implement it in strict compliance with regulations.
