More young volunteer intellectuals dispatched to defence-economic zone

Division 326 under Military Region 2 held a conference in Sop Cop commune on April 10 to review Phase 2 and receive volunteers for Phase 3 of the project on strengthening the deployment of young volunteer intellectuals to the Song Ma defence-economic zone for the 2021-2030 period.

An overview of the conference.

During Phase 2 of the project, 27 qualified young volunteer intellectuals were deployed to work in the defence–economic zone of Division 326. Over two years, these actively participated in disseminating the Party’s guidelines and State laws; persuading and guiding local people to adopt new farming methods, apply technical advances in crop and livestock care, and develop household economies.

They also took part in programmes such as “Youth Month,” “Winter Volunteer Campaign,” “Volunteer Spring,” “Exam Season Support,” as well as cultural, artistic, physical, and sports activities celebrating major national and local events.

The volunteers contributed more than 6,500 workdays to implementing models such as medicinal plant cultivation and elephant grass growing for animal feed, which served as practical learning models for local residents. Together with officers and professional soldiers of Division 326, they conducted legal awareness campaigns, encouraged law compliance, provided medical check-ups and consultations, distributed free medicines to over 1,500 residents, and presented 35 gifts to disadvantaged households.
